Excuses I can find a bunch
like lilies to place in your lap
and tell you stories
to take your hands in mine
and kiss your fingers
to turn your glance of disbelief
into a creek of tears
but I won’t
I won’t cause I respect you
I cherish you as a person
I put my selfishness aside
and ask you to do the same
for it’s the only way…
